The stories between Sungang and the train can be traced back to the completion of Sungang Station in 1962, which was renamed Shenzhen North Railway Station in 1977 and undertook all rail freight business to Hong Kong. In 2009, it changed its name back to Sungang Station and was officially taken out of service one year later.
