Located in Tulum, on a square plot of 2,500 m², Naboa was conceived with the premise of creating a project where architecture and landscape converge in an atmosphere of relaxation and comfort. This intention materializes through pure and orderly geometries that contrast with the pre-existing untamed vegetation.

The volumes are arranged around the pool and the tropical garden, which act as the central organizing element of the project. This layout gives the complex an introspective character, creating a microclimate that ensures privacy and fosters the development of a distinct identity.

The architecture is solid and enclosed when privacy and introspection are required, and open and transparent when visual connections with the landscape and the pool area are desired, especially in spaces with a more social character. The reception area is designed as a linear pavilion with a solid concrete and chukum base, topped by a lightweight wooden roof that appears to float within the jungle. This effect is achieved through slender columns that blend with the surrounding trees.

The hotel features 10 rooms, distributed in two different typologies. The ground-floor units follow a horizontal spatial composition that encourages a direct connection with the surroundings through outdoor terraces and indoor-outdoor bathrooms. The upper floor rooms, offer a vertical reading, which includes a double-height social area and two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, resolved through a mezzanine. The result is spacious, well-ventilated interiors that perform adequately in Tulum’s warm and humid climate.

The restaurant is composed of a double-height volume with an open kitchen, oriented toward a generous terrace raised one meter above the natural ground level. Finally, limestone walls act as organizing elements, marking boundaries and transitions between spaces.

The finishes throughout the project feature natural tones and textures, including wood, limestone, travertine marble, and chukum. The spatial composition is guided by principles of passive design and draws inspiration from the region’s vernacular architecture. At Naboa, the pursuit of simple solutions, slow-paced atmospheres, and sensory-rich details defines the architectural approach.
