The vertical enclosure creates pronounced shading effects: sightlines are blocked by building volumes, human perception is compressed, and public spaces struggle to form a sense of openness; sunlight and ventilation are weakened in certain areas, making spaces feel heavy or dim. Compounding this condition is the constant flow of residents moving in and out.
