Although VI and signage systems are small, they are the most intuitive and accessible spatial elements. In this project, cooperating with Chuan Chuan Design, we extracted the historical visual images of the old Party School to develop the new LOGO, typography, and color system. The signage adopts patterned galvanized sheets, brass, and other nostalgic materials reflecting small-town characteristics, perfectly matching the spatial atmosphere. The words “94 Shangyu Party School” were engraved on the anti-slip strips of the spiral staircase instead of a uniform “Banshan 1994,” allowing the space to carry the building’s past and present. Relying on the rich spatial foundation, we subtly arranged the LOGO, icons, signs, and exhibition contents.
