Gate Horse stands as an archway. Its plywood profiles are held apart and its legs spread wide, framing a passage and letting the Seattle skyline appear through the horse’s negative space. Low-cost and washable, the textile brings warmth to the hard geometry. After the festival, both horses were unbolted, flat-packed, and reassembled in a courtyard in Issaquah, east of Seattle.
