Mengzi, located near the border, has been a historic city in Yunnan since ancient times. During the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, the first customs in Yunnan Province was established here, which created the modern industrial and commercial civilization of Yunnan. Mengzi, referring to France, successively built advanced public facilities such as post offices, train stations, telegraph offices, etc. The ruins of the French Concession, along with these historical sites, gave Mengzi a strong French style influence.
